You are about to see a sequence of interiors, rooms with no people in them. They are not real. They’re virtual sets, or cartoon backgrounds — essentially collages with some airbrushing. I created them for a comic book version of my story, Folklore.
You might notice an absence of chairs. That’s because it’s easier and more convincing to extract an actor sitting in a chair and drop them into the frame as a unit rather than to fit the actor into a chair that’s already part of the background. Also, chairs get moved around.
The image to the left depicts the protagonist’s first sight of a human being.
